Ode to Joy | January 19, 2025

In collaboration with the Lake Forest Civic Orchestra and Chicago Master Singers, we share the hope and unity found in Beethoven's stunning score and Schiller's inspiring poetry in this single performance at the James Lumber Performing Arts Center in Grayslake, Illinois.

We celebrate the rich heritage of gospel music with powerful vocals, soulful melodies, inspirational messages, call & response, clapping, stomping, and enthusiastic rhythms. Our tribute to gospel music welcomes a spiritual experience with a wide range of gospel music styles, and celebrates a faith and culture that is enriching and entertaining!

We are looking for choral singers interested in musical growth and dynamic performance opportunities, and would love to welcome new choir members—especially tenors and basses! Auditions for our spring 2025 prep will take place Monday, December 16 via Zoom.

Rehearsals

Lux Cantorum Chicago rehearses Monday nights from 7:30pm-9:30pm in Portage Park. Our season typically runs from September to May with a concerts spanning two weekends in December and May.
