We nurture an inclusive, creative community by sharing the transformative power of sacred choral music.

Lux Cantorum is a unique sacred choral ensemble with a rich spiritual tradition and an ever-expanding repertoire. For more than 65 years, LCC has enlightened, educated and entertained the people of Chicago and the world.

LCC was founded in 1947 as Lutheran Choir of Chicago, and has evolved into a select group of performers from different spiritual backgrounds who share a common desire to make joyful music—and now sing as Lux Cantorum.

LCC offers opportunities for educational and technical growth. We have sponsored choral festivals and clinics, and have commissioned and premiered original compositions. We are committed to exploring the full universe of creative vocal expression by pursuing unique artistic challenges.

Whether performing from the chancel or from center stage, LCC presents a wide range of styles and compositions with a spirit that is contagious. From Bach to Brahms to contemporary song, LCC reaches out to people everywhere with musical reflections of our shared human experience.
